Customer eligibility
Limit a volume, variable or spend tiers discount to customers with a tag, first orders or signed-in customers.
Eligibility decides who can use a discount. You find it under Who can use this on volume, variable and spend tiers discounts.
Conditions
| Condition | Who qualifies |
|---|---|
| Customers with any of these tags | Customers who have at least one of the tags you list, for example wholesale or vip |
| First order only | Customers with no previous orders |
| Signed-in customers only | Customers who are signed in to their account |
When you turn on more than one condition, a customer must meet all of them.
"First order only" needs to know who the customer is, so it applies to customers who are signed in or identified at checkout.
Where it is checked
The discount checks the conditions at checkout, so a customer who does not qualify does not get it. The storefront blocks check the same conditions against the signed-in customer, so they only advertise a discount to customers who can use it.
Tagging customers
Add tags to customers in your Shopify admin under Customers. Tags such as wholesale can also be added by other apps or Shopify Flow; diex reads whatever tags a customer has at checkout.
