Volume discounts
Create quantity tiers and choose how quantities are counted, from each cart line to the whole cart.
A volume discount gives a bigger discount as the customer buys more. For example: 5% off from 10 items and 10% off from 20.
Create a volume discount
- In diex, create a new volume discount.
- Choose the Method: a discount code or an automatic discount.
- Choose what the discount applies to: products or collections.
- Choose Percentage or Fixed amount under Discount value. It applies to every tier.
- Add tiers. Each tier has a minimum quantity and its own discount value.
- Choose how to Count quantity across (see below).
- Set eligibility, dates and combinations, then save.
Count quantity across
This setting decides which cart lines are added up before a tier is chosen.

With any option except "each cart line", this is mix-and-match: the quantities in a group are added up first, and the tier then applies to every line in the group. A customer buying two blue and three red tees has five tees toward the tier.
When you count by collection, products are grouped by the collections chosen under Applies to. A product outside them counts on its own.
Show the tiers on the product page
Add the Volume pricing table block to your product template. It lists the tiers and, with "Follow the quantity and the cart" turned on, highlights the tier the chosen quantity reaches and tells the customer how many more to add. See storefront blocks.
Good to know
- Volume discounts run as a Shopify Function, so Shopify applies them in the cart and at checkout.
- Shop the discount yourself before you promote it: add items to a cart and check the price at checkout.
